A flicker is there
But not of light;
It belongs to a candle remaining unlit
But it’s warmth shines in a dark felt not seen
It’s underlying pulse
Glimmers and shudders
In the cavern of the silent mind
And blinds perception
Within an eye and a spirit long stilled,
A flicker burst then gone
Within the fleeting of a breath in the dark,
Yet remembered forever
As a lost child in the wilderness,
….calling out to be found —yet calling in vain
